More about
Rachna Sharma

Rachna was a quiet and shy girl who was often asked to speak louder by people around her. Her voice was timid. She lived in her own real (imaginary) world, even after becoming a teacher when she was twenty-something. She never stopped creating, and her imagination has been a catalyst in everything she enjoys doing today.

Rachna moved to Canada in 1995 with her husband and daughter. Packing up and relocating to another country was not straightforward, but it was a much-needed experience that helped her connect with other immigrants on multiple facets.

She values the amalgamation of various factors into her changed social behavior and appearance over time. For example, her family celebrations and food preparations have been shifting from the traditions she knew. The sarees she wore once have transformed into western outfits, and the greetings have changed from ‘Namaste’ to ‘Hello’ and ‘Handshakes.’ All that has helped her blend into her social roles and work environment.

Here is a picture of her family

Wedding picture of her eldest daughter!
The outfit Rachna and her mom are wearing
is called Saree that she wore back home in day-to-day wear.

She deeply appreciates the ethnicity and
multicultural richness of Canadian society.
There is so much new to explore and learn every day.

Happy to be in her garden!

She loves gardening and plants a variety of vegetables
every year. She is an advocate of environmentally conscious living.

Zucchini, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, banana peppers,
round bottle-guard… Home grown, right in her backyard!

One of her favourite quotes
“Nature always wears the colors of the sprit”

When she is not writing or reading,
you will find her enjoying nature,
music, biking, sketching, yoga, and mindfulness.
